Terms of Service

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Agreement

By using mk1realty.com or the tenant/owner portals, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What this site is

mk1realty.com is the website and software portal for MK1 Real Estate Company, LLC, a North Carolina property management company. It lets prospective tenants browse properties and apply, current tenants pay rent and submit maintenance requests, and owners review property activity.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials private and for any activity on your account. Notify us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

Applications and leases

Submitting a rental application is not a guarantee of approval and does not create a lease. Your relationship as a tenant is governed by the signed lease agreement, which controls in any conflict with these terms.

Payments

Online rent payments are processed by Stripe as bank transfers (ACH). We don't store your bank-account details ourselves. A bank-transfer fee is passed through at cost (Stripe's ACH cost, capped) and shown before you confirm. If you enroll in autopay, you authorize recurring ACH debits on your chosen day until you cancel. ACH transfers take a few business days to settle; a returned or failed transfer may incur fees as set out in your lease, and the amount remains due.

No legal advice

Content on this site (including descriptions, application guidance, and FAQs) is informational only and is not legal advice.

Service “as is” & liability

The website and portals are provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind. We work to keep the service available and accurate but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MK1 is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the website or portals. Nothing here limits any rights or remedies in your lease or required by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves; we'll revise the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
